Charlotte Hornets 2021/22 Season Preview – A Buzz Around the City
Bad Men, Bad Takes – Season 1, Episode 6
The Charlotte Hornets exceeded the expectations of many last season by making the Play-In Tournament despite injuries to key pieces, and are bringing in more youth to try and double down on that formula.
Will it work? That’s the ultimate question.
But regardless of the actual results, the BMBT squad are optimistic about their short and long term future coming into the season, with the team believing in the continued improvement of young stars like LaMelo Ball.

”I had my concerns about him at the next level coming from the NBL, but he’s been fantastic”, Rob claimed. “I think he’s almost more mature as a person than a basketball player – he can get rushed and play at a frantic pace, but as with all young point guards, that on-court maturity will come when you have as much talent as he does”.
Rafe agreed, adding “he needs to drive more and learn to take contact at the rim instead of trying to finish around opposition bigs, but he’s been phenomenal so far and I expect him to take another step this season”.
The team also believed Miles Bridges could continue to prove his worth, and suggested the team re-sign him sooner rather than later.

“I don’t think there are many players who give you the package Miles Bridges does in terms of his shooting splits, who also have the ability to rise high for highlight plays every other night”, Rafe said. “I throw him the money now – don’t even let him see what the open market is”.
Hunter agreed.
“Show him a cheque and say ‘Miles, see how many zeros are on this?’. Do that before he has a chance to explore other options”.
The team are all optimistic about what this season holds for the Hornets, though debate raged about whether PJ Washington should play centre and the role recent addition Mason “Plumdog Millionaire” Plumlee would play for the team!
